Riis Academy Celebrates a Successful Academic Year

Congratulations to our Riis Academy program participants for another school year filled with hard work, growth, and fun! Across our two community centers and five school sites, students and staff celebrated the close of the academic year with award ceremonies, parties, tie-dye t-shirt making, and more! We want to give a special shoutout to our graduating seniors from the Riis Academy-InfoTech Learn & Earn program, who received new laptops for their post-secondary journeys.

Now that the school year is over, summer camp is in full swing at PS 111, PS 76, PS 166, Ravenswood Cornerstone, and Queensbridge Community Center. In partnership with NYC DOE and DYCD, these Riis Academy sites are taking part in Summer Rising, which offers enriching daily activities like field trips, art projects, and outdoor recreation, as well as free breakfast and lunch, to K-8 students. We are grateful for the commitment and care of our staff at every after-school and summer camp site for making these programs so meaningful for young people and families across western Queens.
