We’re thrilled to announce that Jennifer Cowan has been named Chair of the Board of Directors of Riis Settlement.
Jennifer has served on Riis Settlement’s Board of Directors since 2019 and brings a deep understanding of our mission, programs, and the communities we serve. She serves as Global Pro Bono Counsel, Director of Corporate Philanthropy, and a member of the Litigation Department at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, where she helps develop the firm’s corporate philanthropy initiatives and strategy and has led significant pro bono efforts in areas including immigration, housing, and not-for-profit organization law. Throughout her career, she has championed public service and helped strengthen nonprofit organizations through strategic leadership and community partnerships.
Jennifer’s deep commitment to service, equity, and community makes her an exceptional leader for Riis Settlement as we continue advancing our mission of providing essential services and opportunities to individuals and families across western Queens.
