Eid Mubarak Celebration

We recently hosted a meaningful Eid al-Fitr celebration at the Queensbridge Community Center, bringing neighbors together in the spirit of reflection and community. Eid marks the conclusion of Ramadan, a holy month of fasting and spiritual growth in the Islamic faith. It’s a time for friends and families to gather, share meals, exchange gifts, and spread kindness.

The event was open to all and welcomed over 100 attendees for an evening of food, connection, and celebration. Guests enjoyed a communal dinner with delicious halal dishes from local vendors—Balkh Shish Kebab House, Qahwah House, and King of Falafel & Shawarma—along with lively music, henna, and face painting for children.

At Riis, we are proud to bring our diverse community together to celebrate our rich cultural backgrounds and foster unity across neighborhoods. The evening was a testament to the strength and vibrancy of our shared values. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us and made this celebration unforgettable!
