This year, we are celebrating the 20th anniversary of our Danish Exchange Program. For the past two decades, Riis Settlement has proudly partnered with our friends at Ribe Katedralskole in Denmark to provide young people with meaningful opportunities to build international friendships and gain a broader global perspective.
Earlier this month, we were excited to welcome a new group of students and their chaperones from Ribe to New York City for an unforgettable exchange experience filled with cultural exploration, sightseeing, and new friendships. Alongside their Riis peers, our Danish guests visited One World Trade Center, saw the Statue of Liberty, explored Governors Island, toured Grand Central Terminal,
We were equally excited to welcome our Danish guests to our Queensbridge and Ravenswood community centers, where they learned about Riis Settlement’s programs and the neighborhoods we proudly serve.
For 20 years, the Danish Exchange Program has fostered cultural appreciation, strengthened international connections, and created unforgettable experiences for young people from both countries. Riis Settlement is proud to co-lead this longstanding exchange with our partners at Ribe Katedralskole, helping to build connections and memories that last a lifetime. We are deeply grateful for their friendship, collaboration, and commitment to making this incredible program possible. We look forward to continuing the exchange when our youth visit Denmark next year!
