Riis Academy hosted its fourth Annual Spelling Bee at C.S. 111 on April 15. Several students from each grade of our after-school sites qualified to participate, competing for first, second, or third place in their respective grade-level rounds. Riis staff and families were in attendance to cheer on the participants, and everyone enjoyed a pizza party to celebrate the occasion. Our well-prepared students rose to every challenge, pushing judges to reach for their most advanced bonus words. First, second, and third-place winners received a medal and a trophy for a job well done.

- Middle School: 1st Place- Vanna from CS 111, 2nd Place- Xavier from Queensbridge, 3rd Place- E’Niyah from CS 111
