This past December, hundreds of our families experienced holiday joy thanks to toy giveaways made possible by our community partners.
On December 15, New York State Senator Kristen Gonzalez and Council Member Julie Won, with the support of the New York Irish Center, distributed toys and gifts to children at our Ravenswood Community Center. On December 19, Rise Light & Power sponsored a toy giveaway, providing STEM-themed toys for our families across Queensbridge, Ravenswood, and Astoria. The celebrations concluded on December 20, when Nas hosted his tenth annual toy giveaway at our Queensbridge Community Center.
The Riismas Intergenerational Holiday Show brought the season’s cheer to life. Youth from all our Riis Academy sites showcased their talents, and members of our Older Adult Center delighted the audience with joyful dance routines. Holiday camp participants wrapped up the year by creating winter-themed crafts and decorating cookies.
As we move into 2026, we carry forward the gratitude, generosity, and community joy that defined the season. Here’s to another year of bringing our community together!
