Our Older Adult Services program had an eventful February. The month kicked off with a festive Lunar New Year celebration welcoming the Year of the Snake — a joyful afternoon where members gathered for traditional activities and a delicious meal featuring chicken, ribs, Lo Mein, and delectable desserts.
The festivities continued with a heartwarming Valentine’s Day luncheon, where participants came together over good food and great company.
We also proudly marked Black History Month with a lively and meaningful event. Guests were treated to a moving performance by Dances for a Variable Population, whose piece “Queensbridge: A Joyful Village” paid tribute to the legendary Miriam Makeba — the iconic South African singer and civil rights activist known as Mama Africa. The event was rounded out by thoughtful conversation and great company, as our community gathered to celebrate and reflect.
