Celebrating Juneteenth

Our Older Adult Center spent the month of June honoring culture, creativity, and community through art and celebration.

In mid-June, participants in our SU-CASA  visual arts class presented their work in an exhibit at the Queensbridge Community Center—a chance to share their talents and connect with fellow members.

Later in the month, the center marked Juneteenth with a vibrant celebration of Black history, featuring a culminating music-theater performance by participants in our SU-CASA performing arts class.

Through these celebrations, we continue to create spaces where older adults can express themselves, honor culture, and build meaningful connections.
