Success Story: William Brandon
William Brandon has been coming to Riis Settlement’s Queensbridge center for the past 11 years. Originally from Belize, seventy-three year old William has been living in New York City since 1974. In 1981 he moved to the Queensbridge community. He originally moved to New York City in hopes of gaining treatment for his vision which was impaired during a work-related accident in 1927 in Belize. William has been legally blind for the majority of his lifetime but has not let that stop him from living an enriching and eventful life.
