Are You Registered to Vote in the Upcoming Local Elections?

The 2013 New York City mayoral election is scheduled to occur on November 5, 2013, along with elections for Comptroller, Public Advocate, Borough Presidents, and members of the New York City Council. The primary elections are scheduled for September 10, 2013.

Community Votes is Riis Settlement’s ongoing voter engagement initiative. You may find up-to-date voting information and educational resources here.

WHY VOTE?

The outcome of local elections directly impacts our community. The results determine which services are prioritized, how resources are distributed and how funding is spent. Voting is an opportunity to elect representatives who reflect our community and our values, and it gives community members a voice to speak out for the changes they want to see. So are you registered?
