7th Annual Fall Family Feast at Riis Settlement

On Saturday, November 10th, Citibank, in collaboration with Riis Settlement, hosted their 7th Annual Fall Family Feast. This year, the event met its goal of providing holiday meals to over 1,000 community members. The gymnasium at Riis Settlement- Queensbridge, located at 10-25 41st Avenue, was converted into a festive environment for residents and families. It was filled with music, dancing, clowns, and face painting for kids as well as two buffet tables decked out with Thanksgiving delicacies.  The menu included turkey (of course) with all the trimmings, collard greens, mashed potato with gravy, carrots, macaroni and cheese, sting beans and desserts. Citi, continuing its commitment to community, provided financial support as well as 75 volunteers over two days to make this event happen. “This is the seventh year of this event and the relationship between Citi and Riis Settlement allowed us to reach over 6,000 community residents so far” said Executive Director Bill Newlin to a room full of volunteers and staff.
